Cordoba Botanical Garden

The Royal Botanical Garden of Cordoba is an institution totally open to the study of plants and flowers and also has an agricultural school, a rose garden, a tacto-olfactory garden, greenhouses and a conservatory of wild species of the region of Andalusia, some of which are in danger of extinction.

This natural space is a 5.5 hectares garden located next to the Guadalquivir River. It is a member of the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens, and of the BGCI (Botanics Garden Conservation International).

It also has a Museum of Ethnobotany and the Museum of Paleobotany Roberto Wagner, where you can learn about the use that various cultures made of plants, as well as the evolution and emergence of flowers throughout history.

Opening hours of the Botanical Garden of Cordoba

The Botanical Garden of Cordoba is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm (including holidays) and is closed on Sunday afternoons and Mondays.

On summer evenings there are usually shows, so the ticket office is open from 8 pm to midnight.

In addition, on January 1, 24, 25 and 31 December it closes completely and on January 5 it closes only in the afternoon.

The Botanical Garden of Cordoba opened its doors for the first time in 1987 as a local reference of plant culture. There are different collections and areas throughout its 5.5 hectares. First of all, there is an arboretum, a simulation of a natural forest. There are also several greenhouses, an agricultural school, a rose garden, etc.

On the other hand, the Museum of Paleobotany, we can learn many interesting facts about the different plants and flowers that have existed throughout history. As for the Museum of Ethnobotany, it shows a permanent exhibition on the connection between society and culture with plants and flowers. In addition, we can visit the Hydraulic Museum located in the old Mill of Martos, where we will learn to interpret history through water and the use of plants in different cultures and traditions.
