The Andalusian Horse

King Philip II entrusted the foundation and leadership of the Royal Stables of Cordoba to a nobleman, who made a careful work of selection and genetic improvement of the animal, giving rise to the Andalusian horse breed.

The Andalusian horse is a breed of horse native to Andalusia. It is a baroque type horse that is among the oldest equine breeds in the world. In Spain it is also commonly known as “Spanish horse” and is officially called Pura Raza Española (PRE), since the Andalusian is considered to be the quintessential Spanish horse.
